Ferrari 296: The Rebirth of the V6 - A Plug-In Hybrid Revolution
The Ferrari 296 is a mid-engined plug-in hybrid supercar introduced in 2021, powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with an electric motor. Together, they produce 819 bhp and 546 lb-ft of torque, launching the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 205 mph.
The 296's hybrid system features a 7.45 kWh battery mounted under the parcel shelf, adding 70 kg to the car’s weight. It powers a 165 bhp electric motor, working in tandem with the V6 for blistering performance.

This is the first Ferrari road car to be powered by a V6 since the Dino 308 GT4, retired in 1974. The new engine uses a 120° architecture and a flat-plane crankshaft, enhancing balance, responsiveness, and packaging efficiency.
On the outside, the 296 takes design cues from the SF90 Stradale, embracing clean lines and elegant simplicity. It rides on 20-inch rims - 8.5 inches wide at the front and 11 inches at the rear. Adaptive LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights swivel to follow the car’s direction.
Inside, the 296 is built for pure driving enjoyment, featuring racing-style carbon seats, a multi-functional steering wheel, and a digital head-up display. The dashboard blends analog and digital elements, anchored by a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a suite of driving-focused features.
For those chasing maximum performance, the 296 GTB is also available with the Assetto Fiorano package. This track-focused upgrade features Multimatic shock absorbers derived from GT racing, extensive use of carbon fiber, (including redesigned door panels), and a lightweight Lexan rear screen.
A LaFerrari-inspired active rear bumper boosts downforce by as much as 360 kg, while carbon fiber front aero elements and exclusive livery options complete the package. The result is a finely tuned setup built to unleash all 819 bhp of the hybrid V6 on the track, or turn even more heads on the road.
