Lamborghini ran the production of the Huracan LP 580-2 from 2016 to 2019 as a cheaper alternative to the Huracan LP 610-4 and thus it was fitted with a detuned 5.2 liter V10 engine and a rear-wheel drive drivetrain instead of an all-wheel drive drivetrain.
Although power output dropped to 572 hp, the Huracan LP 580-2 could still accelerate 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and push onto a top speed of 199 mph.

An ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligent Management) button was added to the steering wheel to allow drivers to select different driving modes. The driver can choose between “Strada mode" for daily use, “Sport mode’ for intense driving fun and finally “Corsa mode” which ensures maximum performance when on the track.
Controls are displayed in the centre stack as if in a fighter jet, and shift paddles are attached to the column, not the steering wheel.
