International Maserati Shamal Spare Parts Supplier
Introduced in Modena in December 1989 as a predecessor to the Maserati Khamsin, the Maserati Shamal was in production until 1996 when it was succeeded by the Maserati 3200.
The Shamal was based on the Maserati Biturbo but with a shorter wheelbase and a 3.2 litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine which whisks the Shamal 0-60 mph in just over 5 seconds and onto hitting a top speed of 168 mph.
The Shamal was also fitted with a new, revolutionary manual Getrag six-speed gearbox which enhanced the driving experience and gave inspiration for the future Maserati Ghiblis.
Marcello Gandini designed the Shamal, and many of his signature styling features, first seen on the Lamborghini Countach and later on the Quattroporte, are evident in the Shamal's design.
The dramatically flared rear wings give the Shamal a unique and purposeful stance along with the rear slanting wheel arches. The unusual front spoiler in front of the windscreen and the centre pillar which wraps around the cabin isn’t just a styling feature, it is a roll bar and these are all features which make the Shamal stand out from other Maserati’s before it.
Initially, the Shamal was only available in black or red exterior colour until later on in production. Keeping in tradition with cheerful and well-equipped interiors, the Shamal features leather seats which resemble armchairs, temperature control and the famous Maserati oval clock in the centre of the dashboard as well as leather or wood coverings on basically every surface.
