The Porsche 991 GT3 and GT3 RS are the high-performance track-focused rear-wheel-drive, 2-door coupé models of the Porsche 991 line-up.

The 991 GT3 was introduced first in 2013 and is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8 liter flat-six engine that produces 475 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, which allows for lightning-fast gear changes and smooth acceleration.

Designed to be a track car, a lot of focus went on a host of performance-enhancing features, including active rear-wheel steering, dynamic engine mounts, and a race-inspired suspension system. It also features a lightweight body with aerodynamic enhancements, such as a large rear spoiler, which helps to improve downforce and stability at high speeds.

The interior of the 991 GT3 is stripped down to the essentials, with lightweight bucket seats, a sports steering wheel, and a simplified center console.

Two years later saw the arrival of the 991 GT3 RS and despite its engine displacement increase to 4.0 liters, it was set to be lighter, more powerful, and capable of generating more downforce than the already stellar GT3 so was right on track to be a serious contender Ferrari’s exceptional 458 Speciale.

Featuring a lightweight body with aerodynamic enhancements the track-oriented GT3 RS also came fitted with sports suspension, larger brakes, and a roll cage. The GT3 RS had an output of 493 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. It could manage a 0-60 mph sprint of just 3.3 seconds and was capable of reaching a top speed of 193 mph.
